9:45 pm-Bovard-Westmoreland County, PA
10:00 pm-Cranberry Township-Butler County, PA
There were a number of UFO sightings reported on August 23, 2012, from around Pennsylvania. The following are the summary reports from two cases from the Pittsburgh region.
On the evening of August 23, 2012, at about 9:45 pm, two people were sitting on a porch near Bovard when they observed a red object rising up from the trees, as though it was originating from the ground. The object, which was towards the north, was glowing red. As it rose higher in altitude, it changed to white as the observers continued to watch. The object appeared to change its direction slightly eastward.
The object moved almost overhead, so the observers moved their position so they could have a better vantage point. The object continued to move steadily but was now traveling towards the southeast, and was again moving higher into the sky, and returned to a red color. As the object increased speed, the color of the object became deeper red. The object soon began to look hazy and started to fade away, then blinked out and vanished from sight as it continued to move higher into the sky. The entire observation of the silent object was about four minutes.
Around 10:00 pm, near Cranberry Township in Butler County, two people sitting on their patio noticed three odd flashing lights in the sky. They obtained a high powered set of binoculars and soon realized that one of the objects was only a star. But the other two objects appeared to be a triangular or pyramid shape structure.
Both of these objects contained a series of eight square lights that alternated up and down and changed colors from white, yellow, blue, and red. The objects stayed in position and were observed for an extended period of time.
