Star-Like Object Performs Maneuvers Over Luzerne County, PA-November 20, 2013

On the evening of November 20, 2013, two people were outside near Drums, Pennsylvania, having a conversation when one of them noticed an unusual light in the sky. The two then watched a bright object which they at first thought was a star. It soon became obvious to them that what they were observing was much stranger.

The object was moving over considerable distances and making quick maneuvers as well as changing color patterns. The coloring of the object would change from a normal star color to a reddish color with a split second bluish/ white sparkle on one side before changing its color pattern.

According to one witness, it was the maneuvers of the star-like object that blew his mind. That fellow was very familiar with aviation, and he felt that what he was observing was beyond the technology of our present day aircraft. He went on to explain that the object they viewed performed maneuvers such as sideways figure eights, small circles, rising vertically up and down in the sky for a considerable distance, and moving from side to side.

One unique maneuver was when it moved in a pattern like a small S shape. The object remained under observation for 25-30 minutes while it continued to perform these odd movements. About a half hour later one witness went back outside to look for it but it was no longer seen. This was possibly due to some cloud cover. The witness attempted to take a video of the object but unfortunately his device was unable to record it.

Hovering Metallic Object Over Fayette County, PA-November 18, 2013

On the morning of November 18, 2013, two men were traveling east on Route 40 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania in the vicinity of Markleysburg when something odd in the sky caught their attention. The sky was very clear at the time, and one fellow noticed a jet passing above at a high altitude.

At a lower altitude below the jet, the man noticed a metallic object motionless in the sky. The man could see the bottom view of what appeared to be a solid highly polished metallic perfectly round object.  That fellow pointed it out to his friend. The silent object remained stationary and no exhaust was observed. According to one witness, “the object was standing on edge like a plate.”

The object was observed for an estimated 12-15 seconds when suddenly the strange object just vanished in the clear sky. The two men never saw the object leave and move off from the area. Then About 20 seconds later, the object re-appeared in the same location in the sky where it had been.

The object was in view for another 10-12 seconds, when suddenly the round metallic object disappeared again and was not seen after that.

Strange Object Observed Over Westmoreland County, PA

October 24, 2013

I have received reports of an unusual object that was observed during the late evening from Youngwood to Mount Pleasant, on October 24, 2013.  The object was reportedly observed by a number of different observers. I am currently gathering information on this case and will post an update when more details are available. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen anything unusual on this date.

Brilliant Fireball Meteor Seen From Pennsylvania and Numerous States

The American Meteor Society (AMS) is reporting hundreds of sighting reports of what appears to have been a brilliant fireball meteor on the evening of September 27, 2013. The luminous meteor was seen from various parts of Pennsylvania including the Greater Pittsburgh area. It was also reported by many observers in numerous other states such as New York, Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia.

Oranges Spheres Over Lancaster County, PA

Denver, PA-Lancaster County

A witness driving near the town of Denver, observed something strange in the sky at about 8:25 PM. The man noticed what appeared to be an orange luminous sphere moving in his direction at an altitude of approximately 400 feet.  The shape appeared to be round in the clear starlit sky.

The witness pulled his vehicle over and watched as the object moved off  along Route 272. The man watched the object until he lost sight of it along a distant tree line. About 40 seconds after he lost sight of the first object, a second identical looking object appeared and followed the exact path as the original object. The witness estimated that he observed each object for about 30 seconds. The man also noted that there was no sound while the lights were under observation.

Note:  There have been numerous similar such reports all across the state during past weeks and months.  Many of these observations are likely launches of Chinese lanterns or sky lanterns, or other similar devices.
