Sphere emerges from contrail

February 24, 2012

Washington, Washington County, PA

It was about 7:15 AM, when a witness traveling on I-79 near the Meadowlands exit in Washington county when he noticed a number of jets and contrails in the partly cloudy sky. As the driver looked out of his windshield, he noticed one jet with a contrail moving from east to west. That aircraft was not as high in altitude as some of the others and it could easily be seen.

The man reported that all of a sudden a whitish/gray solid round ball that resembled a marble, came out of the contrail. The sphere floated out of the contrail at about a 90 degree angle, then moved up toward the jet and appeared to fly beside that aircraft for 2-3 seconds. The sphere exited from the vicinity of the jet at about a 45 degree angle and then made a large rounded turn towards the east. The sphere then seemed to become motionless for a few seconds, then suddenly vanished and was not seen again. The witness told me, “It was there and it was gone.” The total observation lasted 10-15 seconds.

Circle of spinning lights reported

February 21, 2012

Scottdale area, Westmoreland County, PA

It was about approaching 7 AM, when a man traveling on Route 119 south near Scottdale observed in the distance a series of bright colored lights over the trees. The lights were flashing green, blue, white and yellow in color. The light pattern suggested that they were attached to an object that was not discernible. As he watched, the object made a 90 degree turn and moved towards the Connellsville area before he temporarily lost sight of it. He then saw the object again moving slowly, about 400 feet above a farm house. The witness described what he saw as a “circle of lights”, with the lights flashing clockwise. This description is very similar to an object reported near Latrobe on December 30, 2011.

Giant bird observed over the Mon River

February 19, 2012

Monessen, Westmoreland County, PA

Two people riding in a car were traveling on Route 906 towards Monessen along the Monongahela River. It was late afternoon when they saw what they thought was a small aircraft about 1,000 feet up in the sky moving at an odd angle. They were startled when the wings flapped twice and moved off into the distance over a hill. It was estimated from the distance and altitude observed, that this bird appeared to have a wingspan of 15-20 feet across. The bird was a dark brown color, and the wings seemed much thinner than that of a normal bird.

Bright light travels across the sky

February 17, 2012

Farmington area, Fayette County, PA

A man working outside during the evening noticed that there were a lot of airplanes flying around the area. His attention was drawn to a brilliant white star-like object that was moving quite fast from south to north. He watched the object as it moved steadily across the clear sky then just suddenly disappeared. Total observation time was about 30 seconds. No records could be located showing the passage of any satellites over that area at the time.

Odd red lights in the sky

January 5, 2012

Greensburg-Rodebaugh area
Westmoreland County, PA

During the early evening, The observers were traveling on Route 30 east in the vicinity of the Greengate Center. In the sky in the distance towards Rodebaugh, they observed a series of bright red lights in the sky which they estimated were about 1500 feet in altitude. At first two red lights were observed about 100 feet apart. One light was smaller than the other. The lights seem to move together and rose up at one point. They soon noticed two more similar lights coming from the Jeannette area moving over Rodebaugh road. A short time later the lights went out and were not seen again.
